- Watch out Apple, Sony raises the bar with tablet offerings Sony has today announced two long-awaited tablet offerings that they hope will distinguish them from other Android tablets on the market. The Sony Tablet S and Tablet P will be available in Ireland from mid-September and November respectively.

- 31 record labels collectively file $3 million lawsuit against YouTube downloader service 31 of the world's largest record labels, including EMI, Sony, Universal and Warner, are collectively seeking almost $3 million (€2.1 million) in damages from YouTube video conversion website TubeFire. TubeFire is one of many websites that offer a YouTube conversion service, allowing its users to watch YouTube videos offline and on virtual any device.

While the video is meant to be understood as a light-hearted quip, the claims made in it are generally true and do validate Twitter's potential role as an early warning system.
- Mystery as Irish province disappears from Google Analytics While trawling through Google Analytics earlier, as every self-respecting webmaster should, I noticed something slightly odd when viewing location data for Ireland; Connaught is missing. Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon and Sligo, all gone! This is certainly a mistake on Google's part, although some have quipped that this may be yet another condition of Ireland's EU/IMF deal. Selling off Connaught should just about cover Ireland's debt, right?

- Search locations by voice in Google Maps Google announced earlier today that users of its Chrome web browser can now use voice input to search locations in Google Maps. Earlier this year Google introduced voice search to google.com, similar to the same technology that has been available on Android devices for some time now.
- Facebook now serving one trillion pageviews each month Facebook served over one trillion pageviews in June and again in July of this year, according to data from Google's advertising services subsidiary DoubleClick. The data is estimated by Google, but in our own experience is very accurate.
