Facebook gets face detection with new photo tag suggestions
In a blog post earlier today Facebook have announced a new photo tags suggestions feature that uses face detection technology. Photo tags will be automatically suggested to uploads based on previous tagging data within your social graph.

Visualising the world’s relationships through Facebook [Graphic]
Facebook intern Paul Butler has created this really interesting visualisation of Facebook relationships around the world. Butler used a subset of 10 millions friend pairs and Facebook social graph data to map friend connections with their geographical locations.

New look Facebook arriving tomorrow
Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, will appear on 60 Minutes laster tonight where he will announce the new look Facebook profile page. The programme is due to air at 7pm PST, or 2am tomorrow morning here in Ireland.

Facebook announces new “modern messaging system”
Today Facebook unveiled their new “modern messaging system” that promises simpler real-time communication across any medium or device. Speaking at the press event in San Francisco Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO, is quick to confirm that this is “not an email killer”, but “a messaging experience that includes email as one part of it”.

What will Facebook announce this evening?
Facebook's "Project Titan" announcement in San Francisco is a little over two hours away. While all the excitement focuses around Facebook allegedly creating a fully fledged webmail application, or a 'Gmail killer' as it is often referred to, I'm sceptical as to whether this will happen.
