Google plans to "supercharge" Android with €8.73 billion Motorola acquisition
Google has today announced that they've entered into a definitive agreement to purchase Motorola Mobility for €8.73 billion ($12.5 billion). If approved, this would be Google's largest ever acquisition, four times that of the $3.1 billion paid for DoubleClick in March 2008.

Detailed renderings of Apple's new circular HQ in Cupertino, California
The official website for the city of Cupertino, California has posted new renderings of Apple's planned circular headquarters, first revealed in June of this year. The building, officially known as "Apple Campus 2", will house 12,000 Apple employees in a single four-story circular structure that is due completed by 2015.

Twitter vows to purge spammers with "predictive" spam technology

Early speculators estimate iPhone 5 will be cheaper than previous model
As the iPhone 5's inevitable launch date in late September or October draws ever closer, speculators have begun to estimate the device's cost. An image posted on 9to5Mac and sourced from Bloomberg breaks down the iPhone 5's individual component costs and estimates that the device may retail at $620 for a 16GB, slightly less than $649 for the current iPhone 4 16GB model in the US.

BBC launch new TV-friendly iPlayer
The BBC has today launched a new TV-friendly version of its video on demand iPlayer service which aims to improve user experience on this medium. The new version is only available to users in the UK initially on the PlayStation 3 console but later rolled out to a myriad of other devices and connected TVs.
