Freesat, providers of subscription-free satellite TV, have today announced that Channel 4’s 4HD will be arriving on Freesat (@freesat_TV) this April, bringing the total number of high definition channels available on the service to four. Currently BBC One HD, BBC HD, and ITV 1 HD are offered.

Freesat is a subscription-free satellite TV service first launched in May 2008 by the BBC and ITV. They currently offer over one-hundred and forty digital TV and radio services, the BBC’s video on-demand service BBC iPlayer, and will soon offer ITV Player. While the service is only offered in the UK it is possible to receive it in parts of the Republic of Ireland at least.
