HeyStaks, the Irish social search start-up, has launched two new mobile apps specifically tailored for the iPad and Android tablets. These two new apps will compliment already existing apps for the iPhone and Android smartphones.

"Massive win" for Ireland as Twitter sets up international office in Dublin
Industrial Development Authority (IDA) Ireland announced this morning that Twitter is to establish an international office in Ireland - their third location outside of the United States. It's not yet known whether this office will become Twitter's European HQ - a title which may still be awarded to London.

Ireland's Magnet Networks upgrades minimum broadband package speed to 30Mbps
Magnet Networks has announced that it has upgraded its minimum offered broadband speed to 30Mbps, up from a previous speed of 5Mbps, and almost ten times greater than the average internet download speed of 3.34Mbps in Ireland.

Google engineers working on delineating Irish counties on Google Analytics location map
Location reports in Google Analytics will soon delineate Irish counties, replacing the current provincial overview that was introduced in June of this year. This news follows enquiries that we made to Google regarding missing location data for Ireland in Google Analytics last month.

GameStop to begin selling iOS devices, starts accepting Apple trade-ins
Games retailer GameStop may begin to sell iOS devices, like the iPod, iPhone and iPad, in their 6,500 stores worldwide as the iPhone 5's imminent release date approaches, according to 9to5mac.com. This speculation is substantiated by the fact that GameStop has confirmed they are now accepting second-hand Apple products in lieu of store credit.

Formula One, the world's fastest motorsport, will be showcased in an event that will take place through the streets of Dublin next year, will all major F1 teams expected to represent. The spectacle will attract over 250,000 people to the capital, reports The Irish Times.

Eircom promises fibre-powered broadband to 100,000 homes by summer 2012
Eircom has announced plans to bring fibre-powered broadband to 100,000 Irish homes and businesses by summer 2012. This forms phase one of a multi-year plan to finally upgrade Ireland's telecommunications infrastructure and marks a substantial initial investment of €100 million by the group.

As promised, the organisers of the Dublin Web Summit have begun naming some of the confirmed speakers for this October's two day summit, starting with two founders from some of today's most influential internet companies.
