However, unlike its desktop counterpart, iPhoto for iOS uses OpenStreetMap (OSM) data, with Apple apparently deciding to ditch Google Maps on this product.

- Facebook Places Deals launches in UK and parts of Europe At a company event in London this morning, Facebook has announced the launch of Places Deals, a service that allows people to check-in to business locations using their smartphone in order to avail of special offers, in the UK and parts of western Europe.
- Foursquare 2.0 now available on the Apple App Store Foursquare have released version 2.0 of their popular location-based app on the Apple App Store, with Android and Blackberry updates “coming soon”.
