- Watch out Sky – Freesat and Netflix to announce partnership Freesat and Netflix are expected to announce a partnership deal tomorrow that will see the subscription-free satellite TV service offer direct access to Netflix content.
- Digital TV switchover in Ireland will happen one year from now Wednesday, October 24th, 2012 has been set as the official date of completion of the switchover to Digital TV in Ireland. On that date analogue TV signals across the island of Ireland will be no longer be broadcast.
- BBC launch new TV-friendly iPlayer The BBC has today launched a new TV-friendly version of its video on demand iPlayer service which aims to improve user experience on this medium. The new version is only available to users in the UK initially on the PlayStation 3 console but later rolled out to a myriad of other devices and connected TVs.
- Channel 4’s 4HD available on Freesat this April Freesat, providers of subscription-free satellite TV, have today announced that Channel 4’s 4HD will be arriving on Freesat this April, bringing the total number of high definition channels available on the service to four. Currently BBC One HD, BBC HD, and ITV 1 HD are offered.
