Microsoft say good riddance as IE6 falls below 1% in the United States
Microsoft is today celebrating the further demise of Internet Explorer 6 as it officially falls below 1% market share in the United States for the first time. The US now joins other leading nations Austria, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway where support for the defunct browser had already dropped below this milestone.

Google Chrome gets Instant Pages
Google Instant Pages has been rolled out to users of Chrome 13 stable, a feature that was previously only available in Chrome beta. Instant Pages enables certain web pages to be loaded almost instantly by preloading Google Search results that are mostly likely to be clicked.

Over half of Facebook users prefer to use Google Chrome
Over half of Facebook users prefer to use Google’s Chrome browser, according to the evolving results of an ongoing Facebook Question. Out of the 1,037,303 Facebook users who have answered the browser related question at the time of writing, 51.66% of those surveyed chose Google Chrome as their first choice web browser.

As news of Firefox 4’s five million downloads in the first 24 hours of public release emerges, Google have pushed out Chrome 11 beta. The most notable new feature in Chrome 11 is the browser’s ability to transcribe voice to text.

Chirpstory is essentially a Twitter curation tool that enables users to compile and share collections of tweets on specific topics. The tool allows curators to easily pick and choose tweets to include on a particular topic, and to build a continuous, coherent narrative from these.

Google’s big Chrome OS announcement coming December 7th
Gadget blog Engadget have confirmed that the Google Chrome team are holding an announcement event in San Francisco on December 7th. According to Engadget the team are expected to announce a Google-branded netbook that runs Chrome OS.
