Fresh Irish imagery updates in Google Earth
Following on with their monthly imagery update cycles, the Google Earth and Google Maps Imagery team have released another high-resolution aerial and satellite imagery update that again includes areas of Ireland, and in particular Derry/Londonderry, Mayo, Meath, Sligo, and Tyrone.

UK’s Telegraph may introduce paywall this September
The Telegraph will reportedly announce a new online paywall strategy as early as next month, with full implementation by September of this year, according to Marketing Magazine. By doing so, it will join other similar publications, including The Times and Sunday Times, and The News of the World, who have all adapted such strategies last year with moderate success.

Google Nexus S coming to Ireland on March 1
According to Silicon Republic, the much-anticipated Google Nexus S will arrive on sale in Ireland this coming March 1. The Carphone Warehouse will reportedly stock the device, which will be available exclusively on the Vodafone network at first.

Google buys Ireland's tallest commercial building, the Montevetro
Google have once again shown their commitment and long-term vision in Ireland by purchasing Ireland’s tallest commercial building, the Montevetro, for a reported €99.9 million. The newly built property sits directly across the street from Google’s current operations in Gordon House on Dublin’s Barrow Street, and will house their European, Middle East and African (EMEA) headquarters.

Google announces new payment and access control system for digital publishers
Not to be outdone by Apple’s new subscription service introduced yesterday, Google have today announced One Pass - a system for digital publishers that controls “user authentication, payment processing, and administration” of digital content.

Google Nexus S to arrive in Ireland sooner than expected
Following our coverage earlier this week regarding the intentions of Carphone Warehouse Ireland to stock the Google Nexus S smartphone "soon", we can now confirm that they have at least one of the handsets in their possession. This means that the device may become available sooner than expected here in Ireland.

Carphone Warehouse to stock Nexus S in Ireland “soon”
The Carphone Warehouse has announced that it will begin to sell Google’s coveted Nexus S phone in Ireland “soon”. The consumer electronics retailer made the announcement earlier this week on their Facebook page, with Vodafone Ireland reported to be an exclusive carrier.

Bertie Ahern caught on Street View
Former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has reportedly been caught on Google Street View. The images were taken in early summer of 2009 so presumably Ahern is busy canvassing for the 2009 Irish local elections.
