iPad users have downloaded some 582% more apps than their Android counterparts
Apple iPad users have downloaded some three billion apps cumulatively since the revolutionary device was first introduced in January 2010. Compare this to Android tablets users who are estimated to have downloaded just 440 million so far, some 582% less.

RTÉ Player app for iPhone and iPad arrives in time for Christmas
As promised by RTÉ's director of platform development Aisling McCabe at October's Dublin Web Summit, the RTÉ Player app for the iPhone and iPad has been released in time for Christmas. The universal iOS app made its way through Apple's App Store approval process last weekend, and was made available for free download as of this morning.

Less than 2% of Android devices are tablets
In the latest platform versions report from Android Developers, Honeycomb, the tablet-only version of Android has scored disappointingly, accounting for only 1.8% of all Android devices. Compare this to Apple's 250 million iOS devices, substantially more than 1.8% of those are iPads.

GameStop to begin selling iOS devices, starts accepting Apple trade-ins
Games retailer GameStop may begin to sell iOS devices, like the iPod, iPhone and iPad, in their 6,500 stores worldwide as the iPhone 5's imminent release date approaches, according to 9to5mac.com. This speculation is substantiated by the fact that GameStop has confirmed they are now accepting second-hand Apple products in lieu of store credit.
