Explore the National Botanic Gardens in Dublin with Google Street View
Last year Google made available 80,000 kilometres of panoramic imagery of Irish streets and roads to access freely in Google Street View. Along with the Google car, Google utilised the Trike to capture difficult, inaccessible areas of special interest. Today we see one such release as images of the National Botanic Gardens in Dublin are introduced, allowing path-by-path exploration of the beautiful plant collection.

RTÉ have today launched an iPad specific version of their popular RTÉ News Now application already available on Android and iOS devices. This app exists independent of the original iOS News Now app and is tailored specifically for the Apple iPad.

Fine Gael’s Valentine’s Day app – why? #socialmediacringe #ge11
Fine Gael may have yet again become political adversaries as they continue to advance deeper into the world of social media cringe prior to #ge11 later this month. In a bizarre move, Fine Gael have set up an electronic Valentine’s Day email service on their website (aka, web connection point) that lets users send their love interest an uninspiring valentine’s email, or alternatively, spam some friends.

Mobile Ireland 2011 – Smartphone usage in Ireland [Infographic]
Mindshare Ireland have published an interesting infographic regarding smartphone usage in Ireland. The survey, conducted by Sponge It in November 2010, suggests that while over half of Irish consumers own a smartphone, many don’t use their device to its full potential.

The data collected and shared by the Central Statistics Office Ireland (CSO) is both expansive and extremely important, but not very interesting as it is currently presented. We've taken the average yearly live register figures for each county and attempted to transform this raw data into something much more useful and appealing.

Bertie Ahern caught on Street View
Former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has reportedly been caught on Google Street View. The images were taken in early summer of 2009 so presumably Ahern is busy canvassing for the 2009 Irish local elections.

Fine Gael’s website hacked
The website of Irish political party Fine Gael has been hacked by a group calling themselves ‘Anonymous’. The attack took place yesterday evening, with the website still not operational.
