- Facebook ad prices increase by 74% as demand soars The cost of advertising on Facebook is rising fast as more and more large brands allocate greater marketing resources to their online efforts. A report published today by TBG Digital, an independent marketing firm specialising in Facebook advertising campaigns, suggests that the average Facebook ad CPC (cost per click) rate increased by 74% in the past 12 months.
- Netflix planning European launch in early 2012 On-demand internet video streaming service Netflix has plans to expand to Europe, according to a Variety report. Variety quote "leading European film distributors" confirming Netflix's plans to introduce its service in both Spain and the UK as early as spring 2012.
- Huffington Post to launch UK edition this July 6th Arianna Huffington, editor of the Huffington Post Media Group, has confirmed that her popular news and content aggregation website, The Huffington Post, will launch in the UK this coming July 6th. This launch is part of the group’s ambitious plans to be present in 12 countries by the end of this year.
- Facebook growth slows for second consecutive month While Facebook is still experiencing user growth, having reached 687 million monthly active users at the start of this month, this growth rate has been lower than normal for the second consecutive month, according to Inside Facebook.
- Both BBC iPlayer iPad and Android apps now live The long anticipated BBC iPlayer iPad and Android apps have finally arrived earlier today. Response has so far been subdued, with most complaining that the apps don’t bring anything new to the table. Nevertheless, we checked out the iPad version and were quite impressed.
