- Facebook may ditch Bing search partnership in favour of Yahoo! Facebook and Yahoo! have reportedly held discussions in regard to both companies working more closely together, and specifically collaborating on search, reports The Telegraph.
- New insect species discovered on Flickr Flickr has been receiving some good press of late. Earlier this week it emerged that Yahoo!'s new CEO Marissa Mayer may or may not have joined Flickr but intends to make the photo sharing site a priority going forward - reportedly already doubling its development team. Now, Flickr has apparently aided the discovery of a new species of insect.

- Facebook joins Dublin Web Summit lineup With seven weeks to go until October's Dublin Web Summit, a major keynote speaker from Facebook has been announced; Ethan Beard. Ethan is one of eight speakers announced this week, with over 60 speakers planned for October's event.
- Apple to buy on-demand video giant Hulu? Apple is reportedly considering making a bid for Hulu, the on-demand TV show and movie streaming service, according to Bloomberg. Bloomberg quote two people "who weren't authorized to speak publicly" that Apple are in early talks with Hulu, and may eventually make an offer for the video giant.
- 92% of all internet searches in the UK come from Google Google accounts for 92% of all internet searches in the UK, the latest figures from Experian Hitwise confirm. While Google's search dominance in the UK, and indeed the world, is well documented, last month saw the internet giant breach unprecedented levels of UK market penetration, now at 92.02%.

- YouTube founders acquire social bookmarking site Delicious from Yahoo! Yahoo!’s once seemingly ill-fated social bookmarking service Delicious has been sold to YouTube founders Chad Hurley and Steve Chen for an undisclosed sum. Delicious will now fold into a newly created internet company AVOS.
- Broadcast media check-in service IntoNow acquired by Yahoo! Only twelve weeks after launch media check-in service IntoNow has been acquired by Yahoo! for a speculated $30 million dollars. The service exists as an iPhone application that provides real-time social experiences around broadcast media programming.
