Bell X1 will play an exclusive gig on the rooftop of Facebook’s European headquarters in Dublin tonight, May 27th, which will be live broadcast on Bell X1’s Facebook page from 8pm (GMT). This is the first such Facebook music event of its kind and coincides with a visit from company founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg to Dublin.
The broadcast event is free to view online from the band’s official Facebook page and fans are invited to interact socially using the Facebook platform during and after the performance. Bell X1 are expected to play tracks from their new album ‘Bloodless Coup’, as well as some old favourites like Flame and Blue Rinse Baby.
Stan Massueras, head of online sales at Facebook, stated,
“This is a really exciting project and we are really happy to be able to do it with one of the most creative and innovative Irish bands”.
Bell X1 also described the Facebook offices in Dublin as “all beanbags, massage chairs and free M&Ms”. The event will no doubt help them gain a few Facebook followers along the way.
